Dear Yeon ~
With your impressive background at Hock Oil, I chose a "Business" format to best display your skills. This format utilizes the Times New Roman font resulting in a document that’s elegant and uncluttered with a thoroughly professional look.
I began your resume by separating your numerous phone numbers, placing two to the left and two to the right, with your email centered in between. Now, a hiring manager can easily locate this data.
In the body of the resume, I wrote a "Qualifications" paragraph that summarizes and emphasizes your skills. With an objective, you would be telling the hiring manager what you want, whereas a Qualifications summary explains what you can do for the targeted company. There’s a powerful difference in putting the hiring manager’s needs above your own.
In this paragraph, I describe you as accomplished and multilingual with significant experience in the fuel industry. I mentioned your new process for 2,6-DMN and your patent applications - accomplishments that will surely impress a hiring manager. I then wrote of your leadership capabilities in managing and coordinating the multi-million dollar Hoto Construction Project in Bangkok. I ended this section with your linguistic capabilities - in the global marketplace language skills are essential.
Next is your Professional Experience. Because you have only one employer - Hoto Oil - I increased the size of the company name, then listed all of your jobs beneath that one subheading. You’ll notice that after your job titles I included the division where you worked, whether it was at the refinery plant or the R&D Center, then listed the city and the dates of that job. This affords better organization to the resume. To repeat the Hoto Oil listing over and over is redundant and unnecessary.
To further impress a hiring manager, I separated your accomplishments from the rest of the text. I began the bullet points with the strongest action verb possible, while also revising some of the text for clarity, conciseness, and maximum impact.
For example, you wrote:
"Negotiated with Muto Engineering Corp., the engineering company of the Project, to refund the wrong paid V.A.T. whose amount is US $150,000, and then accomplished the refund."
I revised that to read:
"Secured a refund of US$150,000 from Muto Engineering, the project’s engineering firm, through effective negotiations that proved the wrong V.A.T. was paid."
In another example, you wrote:
"Performed successfully the start-up of FCC, a high-tech process in the refinery, which manufactures the high-valued products including gasoline and propylene from the low-valued materials."
I revised that to read:
"Successfully executed the start-up of FCC, the refinery’s high-tech process that manufactures gasoline and propylene from low-grade materials."
In one bullet point you wrote, "Offered the technical evaluation report playing a significant role in catalyst purchase costing US$ 10 million in every year." I revised that to read, "Generated a technical evaluation report resulting in the purchase of a US$10 million catalyst."
I ended your resume with the Education section. Although your Master’s is impressive, you have solid, real-world experience that needed to be presented first.
